AUTHOR Hannah Russell has won a Prestige Award for her business.

“Hannah, Little Alf and friends” was established by Hannah in 2014 when as a teenager she wrote her first story about Little Alf, her pint-sized miniature Shetland.

Over the years Hannah has continued writing the Little Alf stories which have been published in many different languages, becoming a household name across parts of the globe.

Based in the Yorkshire Dales, Hannah now has 17 books under her belt with number 18 about to the published and is a full-time author and writer. In the last three years she has also developed a merchandise range of homeware.

Now her brand has won “Home goods retailer of the year 2022” with the Prestige Awards, which were launched to celebrate business and individuals that consistently offer excellent products and services to customers. The judges loved Hannah’s unusual and innovative idea of adapting the children’s stories in to a merchandise range and building up a strong global customer base.

Hannah said: “It’s lovely to be recognised as a business. I’ve been growing Hannah, Little Alf and friends for a number of years now.

“I have continued to put a lot of time and energy in to the brand, especially over the last year, the business has had over two million monthly views online and the customer base is growing globally each week.

“I’m honoured to receive this award for my product; growing a business is never easy so this is just so lovely.”

Hannah will attend the awards later this year and pick up her trophy and certificate. She has recently moved house and plans to open a visitors centre for fans to come along and meet her animals including Little Alf.
