FORMER Guisborough Laurence Jackson School student Andrew Ashton is to join Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Company on a national and international tour of Swan Lake.
From the beginning this has been a dream show for Andrew, and so to be graduating from university straight into the show is an incredible and well-earned achievement.
As a BTEC dance student at Laurence Jackson School, Andrew was an inspiration to many and helped break the stereotypes of males performing in dance and has been one of the key contributors to the success and popularity of dance within the school.
His passion and determination to succeed in this fiercely competitive industry has been recognised and rewarded. Andrew will be based at Sadler’s Wells and will tour the world with the company.
Choreographer Matthew Bourne's New Adventures is the UK's premier contemporary dance/theatre touring company, as well as being a resident company at Sadler's Wells.
At home and internationally it annually gives more performances than any other UK dance company and tours extensively throughout the UK as well as Japan, Korea, US, Australia, Europe and Russia.
