A TOURING company is bringing its own version of Shakespeare’s much-loved comedy Much Ado About Nothing to Ripon Cathedral.
The production, by Antic Disposition, is playing at seven cathedrals across the country and comes to Ripon on July 20 and 21.
Set in a sun-drenched French village celebrating the new peace of 1945, the show features a cast of vibrant and eccentric characters, as the quiet village square turns battlefield for the ‘merry war’ between sparring partners Beatrice and Benedick.
Antic Disposition’s version of the Shakespeare classic draws its inspiration from the beloved films of French comic genius Jacques Tati.
The award-winning company is best known for presenting innovative and visually striking productions of classic plays and stories in spectacular historic buildings.
Tickets are available from much-ado.co.uk
