PUPILS in County Durham can win a £500 science grant for their schools by learning about the importance of energy efficiency.
Price comparison website Love Energy Savings is offering the prize to the winner of its first Energy Efficiency Competition.
Open to all Year 7 and 8 pupils nationally, the competition is designed to promote the value of green energy to youngsters.
Phil Foster, of Love Energy Savings, said: “Energy efficiency is massively important, especially for the generations of tomorrow who have to learn to live in a rapidly-changing environment.”
Pupils must work together to develop an energy efficiency method which could be used at home or in class.
They will need to demonstrate their idea in a poster along with up to 250 words of explanation.
The winner will receive a £500 grant for their science department, with each member of their team landing a £50 voucher.
