TOP chefs from across the region are due to take centre stage at a popular food festival next month.

Now in its tenth year, the Malton Food Lovers Festival attracts hordes of visitors to the market town and this year’s line-up has now been revealed.

Taking place over the weekend of May 26 there will be a host of food stalls and attractions, including appearances by a quartet of Michelin- starred chefs.

Andrew Pern of The Star Inn near Helmsley, James Mackenzie of The Pipe and Glass in South Dalton and Tommy Banks of The Black Swan in Oldstead are due to give cookery demonstrations.

Michael O’Hare of The Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds is also due to appear.

All the chef demonstrations are free and will take place outside in the Market Place on a new covered main stage area which will resemble TV’s Saturday Kitchen/Sunday Brunch.

As well as cooking live on stage, the Michelin star chefs will also be book signing.

Visitors can also enjoy 160-plus specialist food stalls to choose from including award-winning street food.
