A COMMUNITY care scheme has been boosted by thousands of pounds to help provide activities for disabled children.
The Red Hot Ball is organised annually by parents to raise money for good causes and the latest recipient is Thirsk Community Care who received £4,000.
The money will help fund their play schemes for children with disabilities.
Melanie Crouch, one of the organisers, said: “We really wanted to support a local charity, and the work that Thirsk Community Care does to help local children with disabilities is so important.”
Jane Wilson of the charity added: “This is a very generous donation which will make a real impact on the children who come to our play schemes. We’d like to thank everyone who has contributed – please do take a look on our website and Facebook page to see how the money is used.”
