AN "elf run" which was part of a well-attended festive event raised hundreds for a diabetes charity.
Northallerton’s Vasstech Garage Services and Allerton Junior Athletics Club raised £345 in the town’s Santa Sunday celebrations.
The cash was donated to South Tees Diabetes UK Family Group – a parent run support group to help families of diabetic young people organise events, activities and meetings.
It aims to bring diabetic families together and offer support in those districts which are under the care of South Tees Hospitals.
Geoff Archer, chair of Allerton Junior Athletics Club, said: “We had 115 runners across three age groups. It was a great event for the children and fantastic that we can support young people in the area.”
