TRADERS are in fierce competition for the crown of a town's top retail award.
The Original Richmond, Richmond Business and Tourism Association (RBTA), is seeking nominations for the David Doorbar Award for Innovation and Excellence in Retail.
All retail businesses within the Richmond or St Martin’s boundary can be nominated.
David Doorbar ran Richmond Motor Company with his wife Faye, ranking highly in customer care league tables.
After selling the business in 2006, he took on roles such as the RBTA treasurer and director of Yorkshire Business Aid.
Before David died in 2015, he suggested an award for local businesses and was presented with the first one by the RBTA.
Nominations can be made at originalrichmond.co.uk until January 22.
