RUNNERS raised cash for St Teresa’s Hospice by taking part in its Darlington Santa Run 2017.

The run at West Park Academy this morning was described by organisers as a “sociable event” with people encouraged to complete the largely flat circuit at their own speed.

Each person received a free Santa suit and a medal, along with refreshments when they crossed the finish line. They were also cheered on by enthusiastic supporters.

Children under five could take part for free.

The runner who raises the most sponsorship will win £100 Morrison’s vouchers as long as they supply their cash to the hospice by January 3.
