THE A1(M) has reopened this morning after a lorry fire on Wednesday night.
The incident happened near Chester-le-Street.
It was between junction 63 (Chester Le Street) & junction 62 (Durham).
Video footage on social media shows an articulated lorry fully ablaze.
Queues of traffic formed as a result as fire crews tackled the incident.

Durham Police reported: "Further to the report of a vehicle on fire on A1M southbound between junctions 63 & 62.
"The vehicle will remain in situ until tomorrow morning, resulting in the hard shoulder and lane one remaining closed, due to damage to the road surface. Lane 2 is now reopen.
"Delays are expected tomorrow (Thursday) during commuter times. Please allow extra time for your journey or seek alternative route."
However, after overnight work to clear the damage, all lanes were fully reopened at around 4am today.
A police spokesman said: The A1M southbound between junctions 62 & 63 has now fully reopened following the vehicle fire late last night. Motorists are thanked for their patience".
