YOUNG people are being reminded that time is running out to apply for an apprenticeship at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.

There are 37 apprenticeship opportunities in a variety of departments and the deadline for applications is at the end of the week.

As well as learning on the job, council apprentices will be working towards relevant qualifications in the role they are working in to give them skills for the future.

Councillor Christopher Massey, cabinet member for resources and deputy leader of the council, said: “Doing an apprenticeship is a great opportunity for young people to earn money while they learn and gain practical skills in the work place which will benefit them for years to come.

"The council is a big supporter of apprenticeships across the borough and I’m pleased that we can personally offer these opportunities to become part of the council team.”

Anyone interested in applying for an apprenticeship should complete the application form, which can be found on the council website or by calling 01642-444036.

Completed applications can be emailed to HRTransactional@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk or posted to HR Transactional, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Kirkleatham Street, Redcar, TS10 1RT before Friday.
