A WOMAN in her 70's has been assaulted in the carpark of a supermarket.
North Yorkshire Police today (Sunday, October 9) put out an appeal for witnesses and information following the assault in the Aldi carpark at Monks Cross in the Huntington area of York.
It happened between 5.15pm and 5.30pm on September 27 and involved a man of heavy build, aged in his late 40s and the pensioner. Both were from the York area.
The woman suffered a minor head injury and was taken by ambulance to York Hospital where she was discharged following treatment.
The man was arrested at the scene and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
