SEVERAL fire crews were called to a North Yorkshire town centre after a fire took hold in a hotel.
The fire had started in the chimney of a hotel in Pickering Market Place and then spread to roof joists at about 1.15am on Saturday.
Crews from Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, Malton and an aerial ladder platform from Scarborough all attended the incident.
The fire was extinguished by crews working from both the roof ladder and ground level.
