A PLANNING application has been submitted for the construction of 107 houses near Catterick Garrison.
White Acre Estates Limited have proposed the building of family and affordable houses on land east of Cookson Way, Brough With St Giles.
Richmondshire District Council has received the plans, which also include a new open space and play areas on the 4.2ha site.
The houses would be accessed off the new roundabout on Cookson Way which was designed with capacity for further homes.
Within walking distance from the site are several services and shops in Colburn and a bus stop.
There are two scheduled monuments, a conservation area, one grade I, one grade II* and sixteen grade II listed buildings within the surroundings.
However, an assessment of the premises concluded “there are no archaeological constraints to the deliverability of the study site”.
