AWARD-WINNING comic Robin Ince is returning to the region with his first solo show in three years.

The Funny Way To Be Comedy club will be hosting the opening show on the UK tour at The Witham, in Barnard Castle, on September 23.

Ince will present "a joyous romp through his favourite artists and strangest scientific ideas" in his new show Pragmatic Insanity.

The winner of The Francis Crick Science Journalism Award, three Chortle gongs and the Time Out Outstanding Contribution to Comedy award, Ince also received a Sony Gold and Rose d'Or for his work with Professor Brian Cox on their BBC Radio 4 series Infinite Monkey Cage.

Funny Way To Be promoter Peter Dixon said: "Robin's show are guaranteed not only to be hilarious, but also captivating and enlightening, and we're thrilled to be hosting him as part of his first tour in three years.
