A CHARITY is looking to recruit collection box co-ordinators across Thirsk and Northallerton as part of a campaign to increase its presence in the area.

Marie Curie is seeking volunteers to support the charity’s work by organising and growing a new collection tin campaign in the communities.

The co-ordinator role entails asking local shops and businesses if they would have a Marie Curie collection box and then every few months -or when needed - the box is collected, donations are banked and the empty box is returned to the shop.

Gemma Hewitt, Marie Curie community fundraiser, said: “Currently, we don’t

have any collection box co-ordinators in the area so this is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in supporting the charity by building relationships with local businesses.”

Marie Curie is also keen to hear from businesses such as newsagents, supermarkets, post offices and petrol stations among others who are interested in displaying a collection tin.
