THE deadline for entries to one of the most prestigious events in the calendar for the region’s food and drink industry has had to be extended.

The move has been made after a technical issue was identified on the website of the Flavours of Herriot Country Awards.

The problem has now been resolved but to make allowances for the technical problems the deadline has now been extended to Thursday, August 31.

The chair of the awards, Irene Myers, said the problem was now in the past but they were extending the deadline to give everyone a chance.

“We are looking forward to receiving more entries, and our panel of independent and highly respected food and drink experts are on stand by for judging," she said.

"We look forward to hearing about the passion and dedication people give to their businesses based in Richmondshire and Hambleton.”
