VISITORS turned out for a day of entertainment at a country show on the edge of the North York Moors.

This year was the 109th Osmotherley Show, held at Home Farm in nearby Thimbleby on Saturday, August 5.

Under changeable skies, visitors viewed the many horticultural and floral displays on display in the horticultural tent, where there was an array of prize-winning fruit, miniature gardens, vegetables and flowers and a display by members of Osmotherley Gardening Club.

In addition there were also some locally-made scarecrows entered into one of the classes.

The show, not far from Northallerton, also featured traditional classes for livestock and horses, as well as sheep dog trials, a dog show and a gun dog scurry in which gun dogs of all shapes and sizes were put to the test.

There were also some imaginative entries in the mounted and un-mounted fancy dress competitions; which included one pony dressed as a tractor.

Osmotherley Silver Band provided musical entertainment, while younger visitors were catered for at the Kid’s Zone with special guests the Trolls.

A display of vintage tractors was put on in the main ring.

The entertainment continued until late with a disco.
