CHILDREN are being urged to make the most of their summer holidays by borrowing a bike for free.
The Yorkshire Bank Bike Library scheme aims to give every child access to a bike.
There are 46 bike libraries across the whole of Yorkshire where the scheme is running, including ones in Middlesbrough Environment City and Middlesbrough Cycle Centre, as well as Catterick Garrison, near Richmond.
Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “We launched the Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries with the aim of giving every child in Yorkshire access to a bike, and I am thrilled to see how successful the scheme has become.
