A GROUP of kind-hearted cyclists have completed a coast-to-coast challenge in aid of two community causes.
The cyclists, from the Hambleton area, cycled from Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria to Whitby, encountering challenging hills and difficult terrain during their 150-mile journey. And their hard work has paid off, with the group raising £700, which will be split between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Hambleton Community Action (HCA).
Claire Barnbrook, one of the cyclists, said “The cycle ride was challenging for all involved but the views and comradery were worth all the discomfort.”
Hazel Kirby, chief officer of HCA, a Northallerton-based charity that provides advice and support to voluntary and community groups, thanked the cyclists for their generosity, adding: “Every penny given to our charity will be spent on much needed services for the local community.”
