A MAJOR new super-tough obstacle course is heading for North Yorkshire..

Organisers say Dirty Hero will “sort the men from the boys and the women from the girls” as participants climb, crawl, jump and run through a host of daunting obstacles, while helping others who need a hand along the way.

“You’ll need to be brave and conquer heights, fire, small spaces and freezing water – this is not an event for the fainthearted,” said spokesman Peter Mathieson, who also hosts various triathlons in Yorkshire.

Two of the Dirty Hero events are planned near the North York Moors, with the first on May 20 at Newburgh Priory at Coxwold and the second on July 22 on the Duncombe Park Estate at Helmsley.

People can opt for a ten or five-mile course, and work in teams or as individuals.

Peter’s brother and Dirty Hero co-founder Paul Mathieson said anyone who did the challenge for charity would receive help with promotion.

“Those people are heroes before they even set foot on the course” he said.
