A COLLEGE has gone the extra mile to help raise money for a disability charity.
Staff and students from Redcar & Cleveland College took part in an epic cycling challenge to raise funds for Middlesbrough Powerchair Football Club.
Taking place in the college’s atrium, the group took part in a team relay, as they cycled 149 miles – the distance to the home of the National Powerchair Football League - raising more than £1,000.
Redcar & Cleveland College’s exams assistant, Emma Haytack, said: “We came up with the idea of a spin-a-thon as we felt this was a fun idea to get everyone working together for a fantastic cause.
“We had a fantastic day of fun competition and we’ve already started to plan more fundraising activities.”
