LEADING musicians are set to take to the stage to perform classics at a medieval cathedral.
A Spring Concert will be given by the Royal Northern Sinfonia, at Ripon Cathedral, Saturday, May 6.
They will be conducted by the festival’s co-founder and artistic director, Janusz Piotrowicz, and will play Beethoven and Tchaikovsky.
Jennifer Pike, who gave a performance of the Mendelssohn with Janusz and the London Mozart Players at the Royal Hall in 2015, returns to play Brahms’ at the concert.
A September Festival will offer more classics conducted by Mr Piotrowicz with the Orchestra of Opera North, which will appear at the Royal Hall, Harrogate, with a Russian programme on September 2.
The Royal Northern Sinfonia will return to the cathedral on September 22.
