MOTORISTS are to be able to continue to park for free at a Catterick Garrison car park.
Richmondshire District Council has extended the suspension of charges at the Hildyard Row car park - next to White Shops - until the end of May.
“Car parking charges have been suspended further due to the major road improvement works and the associated reported impact on local businesses,” said corporate director Colin Dales.
“We have listened to local businesses and this is our direct response to assist them. We are keeping the charging position under review and a further decision will be made towards the end of May.
“The road improvements, once complete, will bring long term benefits but we do acknowledge the difficulties they are causing in the short term.”
