THE head of one of the biggest country shows in North Yorkshire, Margaret Liddle handed over the reigns to a new President Don Leeming.

The Nidderdale Show, is well known as the final agricultural show of the season, held at the end of September and regularly attracts over 15,000 visitors. This year the event is being held on Monday September 25, at the Bewerley Park site in Pateley Bridge, and alongside the traditional produce and animal classes extra horticultural classes have been brought in for green fingered residents with potato and onion classes as well as the ugliest vegetables.

At the recent Society Annual Dinner and Schedule meetings Susan Monk, Secretary of Nidderdale Agricultural Society, was honoured by retiring president Margaret Liddle to mark twenty years of dedicated service. Peter Broadbent, organiser of the Nidderdale Show’s canine section, was presented with a Life Membership Badge in recognition of over 20 years service to the Show and Eric Marshall was presented with a Life Member’s badge in recognition of his many years service and dedication to the Society.
