STUDENTS will meet the cast of an all-female production of a “Kill Bill-esque epic drama” being performed in Darlington this Mother’s Day weekend.
Pupils at Polam Hall School and Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College will meet the director, Nir Paldi, in workshops sharing skills with professional theatre makers and actors visiting the North-East.
Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, the multi-award-winning international Theatre Ad Infinitum ensemble will stage Bucket List as the latest Jabberwocky Market pop-up theatre event.
Describing the show that follows the story of one Mexican woman’s fight for justice, Mr Paldi said: “Bucket List explores the impact of global capitalism on ordinary people particularly those living on the border of Mexico and the US.
“I wanted to tell the story of an ordinary girl, named Milagros, radicalised by the environment she grew up in.”
Mr Paldi’s Bristol-based theatre company first toured in Darlington two and half years ago with the Ballad of the Burning Star production which led to Jabberwocky Market being recognised with awards.
Bucket List will be performed on Friday, March 24 at 2.30pm and on Saturday, March 25, at 7.30pm in the Liddiard Theatre, Polam Hall School, off Grange Road, Darlington.
Mothers attending the show will also be offered a free glass of prosecco.
