AGE UK North Yorkshire is working with a bio-medical engineering student who is looking to design a product which will help people overcome daily living problems.
The charity is working with Helena Wollerton who is studying at Newcastle University.
As part of her course she hopes to design a product that will overcome an everyday problem experienced by people as they get older, or by people with disabilities.
The student is working with the charity to establish an area to focus on.
A coffee morning will be held on Thursday, March 2 at 10.30am on Northallerton High Street, when she will be meeting people to hear about their experiences and challenges as they go about their everyday activities. As a result of the meetings she hopes to design a product that can make certain routine tasks easier.
Recent similar developments include a product to help women pull tights on and special grips to help people open jars and bottle tops.
Anyone interested in helping can attend the coffee morning or email; helenawollerton@btinternet.com
