THE National Farmers’ Union Scarborough branch held its annual fundraising dinner dance on Friday, February 3 at the Royal Hotel in the town, and raised almost £1,000 for two local charities.
Lucinda Douglas, one of the event organisers, said: “There were around 300 people there, including members and customers, and they were entertained by a live band and DJ.
“We raised money for the Farming Community Network and for the Rainbow Foundation in Scarborough, which helps people in financial difficult.
“We had a fantastic night, but next year we may have to look for a bigger venue as the demand for tickets is getting so high. We have had some brilliant feedback, especially as it is such good value for money at just £35 a ticket for the evening.”
