A FAMILY-RUN human resources and health and safety company has grown to twice its size following phenomenal success in 2016.

We do HR, a Darlington-based agency, has doubled both its turnover and clientele.

The growth has been driven by the company's expansion into learning and development and drug and alcohol testing within a number of larger companies.

It has also continued to increase its London-based clients and, to meet demand, has recruited a new member of staff. Katrina Hutchinson, originally from Canada, has joined as an HR officer.

Alasdair Ross, owner and managing director, set up the business in 2003 and its success to its policy of offering tailored, quality services at best value.

He said: "We always ensure our services cater to what our customers need, not just broad-brushing them with too much information that will not get read or isn't practical to implement across their business.

"We've worked hard to build strong trusting relationships with our clients, who can pick up the phone for support anytime. Our success in that endeavour meant our newer health and safety services have been welcomed with open arms, contributing to our incredible performance in 2016."

The business is continuing to look to hire more HR, health & safety and learning & development officers to meet the increased demand.

Hannah Ross has also returned to her health and safety role after a seven-month sabbatical in America where she gained valuable international business experience.
