AN AMATEUR dramatic society has set itself the challenge of producing two plays for an evening of comedy at the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond.
Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society (RADS) will perform Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound and Peter Schaffer's Black Comedy from Thursday, November 3 to Saturday, November 5 for an evening of farce.
One cast will double up on characters, creating a real challenge for performers.
“The real challenge of producing two plays for one evening is for the actors," said director, Jim Brown.
“Each actor has a significant role in each of the plays and so they have to work hard to create two distinct characters – I have no doubt that they will pull it off."
The Real Inspector Hound is a parody in the style of Agatha Christie, and Black Comedy is a farcical comedy set with the characters completely in the dark, but the audience can see everything.
The plays are on at the Georgian Theatre Royal at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the box office on 01748-825252 or on the website at www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk.
