SHOPPERS have been rather taken aback to discover a new phenomenon sweeping Northallerton.
For “Pop Up” nuns are suddenly appearing on the High Street on Saturday market days.
However, rather than promoting a life of quiet contemplation, the ‘nuns’ are raising the profile of Northallerton Musical Theatre Company’s forthcoming musical comedy Sister Act, which was made famous by Whoopi Goldberg.
The Company are extremely grateful to ambulance driver Kirsten Moore, who has just finished playing the lead role in Whitkirk, Leeds, and quickly responded to Northallerton’s emergency call to play Dolores in their own production.
She is currently fitting her shifts around rehearsals.
Sister Act will be staged at The Forum, Northallerton from October 24-29 at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced from £8 to £14 and are available by calling 01609 776230 or visit www.forumnorthallerton.org.uk
