LAW firm Jacksons celebrated its 140th anniversary with clients and colleagues at Rudby Hall, near Hutton Rudby, Stokesley.

The firm, which has offices in Teesside and Newcastle, organised a drinks evening with toasts, balloons and a cake for a birthday party, and entertainment by a harpist.

Karen Robinson, marketing manager at Jacksons, said: “We wanted to celebrate with our contacts and clients, and give them a bit of a party as well.”

Senior Partner Geoff Skeoch gave a welcome speech and thanked clients for their business and for sharing the evening with the firm.

Jacksons was formed in 1989 by the merger of Jacksons Monk & Rowe, which was founded by solicitor Gilbert Benjamin Jackson in Middlesbrough in 1876 and Cohen Jackson, established in 1902 by Reuben Cohen.

Many of the staff are long-serving employees, having joined the firm in the 1970s and 80s. In the private client department, secretary Gail Tattersfield has worked at Jacksons for 46 years and legal assistant Christine Westwood for 40 years.
