THE North Yorkshire branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust is preparing to mark fifteen years of re-homing with a brand new walk in Hovingham.
The Retired Greyhound Trust is a national charity dedicated to finding loving homes for greyhounds when their racing days are over.
Back in 2001 Karen Fraser decided to set up the North Yorkshire branch and now has a team of helpers who assist in looking after homeless hounds.
The branch now finds around 50 homes for greyhounds each year and Karen hopes the new walk will attract more potential owners to come forward and give a dog a home.
“Our greyhound walks are an ideal opportunity for potential adopters to come along, meet some of our pet greyhounds and to find out about the breed in an informal setting.”
The walk will begin at 1pm on September 4 at Hovingham Village Hall. Refreshments available for both hounds and humans.
