RESIDENTS are encouraged to nominate unsung young heroes for a youth honours list.
Staff from Specsavers in Northallerton are urging local people to nominate under-16s from the area who have helped the community, for the first ever British Citizen Youth Awards (BCYA).
Nominees may have selflessly supported a relative or friend, overcome the odds to make a difference to other people’s lives or gone above and beyond for a good cause.
Public nominations for BCYA will close on September 19 before being reviewed by the BCYA committee.
The recipients will be published in October ahead of a ceremony when they will be presented with BCYA titles and medals at The Palace of Westminster on October 18.
