ONE of the most traditional shows on the North York Moors takes place today, Saturday.

Rosedale Show, which was founded in 1871, is held at Rosedale Abbey and includes a range of attractions for all the family.

Alongside the traditional livestock classes, horticulture and crafts, there are foxhound and terrier shows, gundogs, terrier races and hound trails. The gymkhana will also return this year and music will be provided by Malton White Star Band.

Secretary Malcolm Leckenby said: “We have more entries in the cattle and horse sections compared to last year and the tent section classes are also strong as usual with another good range of entries,” he said.

The show opens at 9am. Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for senior citizens, £3 for children and free for the under-fives.
