A SPECIALST domestic abuse charity has organised its first golf day to raise essential funding.

My Sisters Place, based in Middlesbrough, hosted the event at Eaglescliffe Golf Club when teams from Teesside businesses took on each other.

Michelle O’Rourke, the charity’s service development manager, said: “The event raised £1,000 in support of the charity and we are hoping to secure some match funding for the event. All of this money will go directly to helping women and children to live safe and free from abuse in Teesside.

“Special thanks go to our teams and prize sponsors including Psyche, BWC Solutions, Crimewatch Safeguard Security, AVL Leasing, Thinkrandom Creative, AM Engineering, Steron Locksmiths, Vehicle Smart, Paul Card Recruitment, Tilly Bailey and Irvine and Diamond Press and Design.

“We have already started planning the 2017 golf day, please get in touch with the charity for more details.”

Eddie Hides from Advanced Vehicle Leasing said: “Advanced Vehicle Leasing were delighted to enter two teams in the first My Sisters Place charity golf day, we had a fantastic day, raising money for a much needed and great cause. There’s already a buzz about next year’s event and we would like to thank My Sisters Place for a great day.”
