TWO more dates have been added to a scheme that allows patients to express their views on health services in the region.

The NHS Better Health Programme looks at ways in which the NHS can best provide services across Darlington, Durham and the Tees Valley.

An extra event has been added to take place in Hawes in The Fountain Hotel on Monday, August 1 between 6pm and 8pm.

There will also be a meeting at Catterick Leisure Centre on Wednesday, August 3 between 6pm and 8pm.

The events allow patients to discuss suggestions with health leaders, doctors, nurses and other care professionals about how improvements to health services in the area can be achieved.

However, the programme has prompted some fears for the future of certain services in the region’s hospitals.

A spokesperson for the scheme said: “This is the perfect opportunity to welcome people to the programme and open the conversation ahead of the next pre-consultation phase in September.

“If you live in or around Catterick Garrison or Hawes, why not come along and see what the programme is about.”

The programme is to offer several more events across the region in September.
