NORTH Yorkshire’s most senior police officer will be returning to his own patch on Monday.
Chief Constable Dave Jones will be back behind his own desk after three months as the interim boss of the South Yorkshire force.
In his absence the force has been run by Tim Madgwick, who will now return to his role as the deputy chief constable.
Police and crime commissioner Julia Mulligan said: “It’s good to have Chief Constable Dave Jones back and I look forward to moving our plans forward over the coming months and years.
“It’s rare for a chief constable to spend time leading another force and he will be bringing the benefit of that experience back to North Yorkshire with him.
Durham’s deputy chief constable, Stephen Watson, will take on the South Yorkshire role.
