A POPULAR classic car show is returning to County Durham.

A parade of vintage vehicles will feature in The Raby Castle Classic Vehicle Show on August 14, between 10am and 4pm.

Motoring enthusiasts will be able to listen to the purring of excellently restored engines and admire the beautifully waxed bodywork of the classic cars, vintage vehicles and timeless transport at this long established show which will be held at the castle, near Staindrop.

Land Rovers, tractors, trucks, bikes, 4 x 4’s and classic cars including MGs, Triumph Stags and Austin Seven’s are just some of the vehicles that will be on display at the Mark Woodward event.

There will also be motor awards, an auto jumble for anyone looking for a bargain or a rare discontinued part, and an arena with commentaries throughout the day.

Mr Woodward said: “I cannot wait to return to Raby. This event also gives visitors chance to enter the castle as well as relax in the tea rooms”.

Visitors are invited to explore the castle’s 200 acre deer park, carriage collection, gift shop, tearooms and enter the castle for a small extra charge.

Admission is £6.50 for adults and £2.50 for children. There is a small additional charge of £3.50 to enter the castle.
