MORE details have emerged of an incident in which a veterinary nurse collapsed after reports of an anaesthetic gas leak at a North Yorkshire veterinary surgery,

A spokesman for Bishopton Vets, in Studley Road, Ripon, said the female nurse who collapsed in a theatre while a dog was being operated on, had raised concerns about her health hours before the incident on Monday (June 20) and stated the gas leak and her collapse were not necessarily related.

The practice has stated it isolated the gas leak before the firefighters arrived, the building was not evacuated and the gas leak may not have been the cause of the nurse's collapse, as had been suggested by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

He said the nurse had been treated at hospital and was recovering as the surgery investigated the incident.
