MEMBERS of the Embroiders’ Guild and invited guests enjoyed a preview evening to an exhibition of their work at Tennants of Leyburn.
Articles on display had been prepared by Richmond and Leyburn and the Darlington branches, along with Darlington Young Embroiderers.
Mary Burn, Linda Edwards, Joy Bradshaw
The exhibition celebrates 300 years of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, the English landscape and garden designer in stitching and textiles. Centrepiece was a collaboration showing Ripley Castle Gardens in summer, which were inspired by the man himself. During the evening Val Hepworth of the Yorkshire Gardens Trust gave a presentation on his work in the county.
Ione Dowson, of the Embroiderers Guild, said: "It was a lovely evening and I hope everyone takes the chance to come and look at the magnificent work done by our members."
