EACH month The Northern Echo highlights one of the many dogs looking for a home at the Dogs Trust Darlington, in Sadberge, near Darlington.

Four-year-old Lurcher, Willow, is a sensitive, shy girl looking for a forever home.

She likes to take her time to get to know you and build a bond with you but once she’s done that, she will love you forever and be a loyal four-legged friend.

People often think lurchers, who are usually a cross between a sighthound breed such as a greyhound, and a collie or terrier, need more exercise than many dogs.

But that is not the case and Willow is a typical ‘lurcher lounger’, happy to sit and lap up every bit of attention on offer.

She would be happy in an adult only home or a home with sensible older children and would definitely benefit from living with another dog.

You can visit Willow at Hill House Farm, Sadberge on Thursdays to Tuesdays from noon to 4pm. To find out more, contact 01325-333114.
