A 51-year-old man accused of tricking residents of remote properties out of more than £110,000 is set to appear before magistrates.
Sukhpayge Singh Rhatore, of Ingleby Barwick, has been charged with six offences of fraud by false representation after travelling to the isolated homes in North Yorkshire.
A hearing at Northallerton Magistrates Court tomorrow (Friday, May 6) is scheduled to hear that Rhatore visited a property outside Crathorne, near Yarm between 2012 and last year and falsely claimed he would repay sums given to him totalling £106,900.
Prosecutors allege Rhatore committed two further offences at the North York Moors National Park village of Old Byland, near Thirsk, four days before Christmas in 2012 and in April 2013, when he falsely claimed that he would repay £3,500.
All of the charges allege Rhatore intended to make a gain for himself by committing the offences.
