A BOXING ring will become a theatre next weekend.
The Darlington Boxing and Martial Arts Academy and the Dolphin Centre will host a performance of the acclaimed show Until You Hear That Bell.
Inspired by creator Sean Mahoney’s history in amateur boxing, the show will play out through timed boxing rounds and spoken word.
Michael Dicks, from the Darlington Boxing and Martial Arts Academy, said he was looking forward to hosting the unusual performance.
Mr Dicks said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming this show into the gym.
“The unusual setting will hopefully add something to the event, just as the show will lend a new voice to Darlington’s strong boxing community.”
The show is being staged as part of the Jabberwocky Market festival, which holds theatrical events in Darlington throughout the year.
It will take place at the Darlington Boxing and Martial Arts Academy from 8pm on Saturday, April 23 and from 2pm on Sunday, April 24 at the Dolphin Centre.
Tickets are £10, £7 and £12 on the door.
