A MEETING that attracted too many protestors to continue has been rearranged for this week.

Recently, the presence of hundreds of objectors saw a meeting of Darlington Borough Council’s planning committee halted unexpectedly.

The meeting - on Wednesday, February 3 - concerned contentious proposals to build hundreds of new homes in Middleton St George.

It was suddenly deferred when council officers realised the room used for the meeting would not be big enough to hold the huge number of concerned residents.

The planning committee is now scheduled to meet at 1.30pm on Wednesday, February 17 at Darlington’s Dolphin Centre.
