ALL the past mayors of Bedale have been presented with a special in recognition of the service they have given the town.
The presentation took place last Sunday in Chantry Hall immediately after the Mayor's Civic Service at St Gregory’s Church. The service was conducted by the Rev Ian Robinson and it celebrated the civic and community service given by the people of the town. The speaker was the Reverend Canon Beverley Mason, taking her first service as Archdeacon of Ripon and Craven.
Mayor of Bedale, Cllr Christine Mollard said “The idea for Past Mayors Badges came from deputy mayor Cllr Malcolm Young last year and he has worked hard to source and design the badges. We all felt that, as all our past mayors are very proud of having been the mayor, they should have something that recognised this and it was very appropriate to have the presentation as part of the civic service."
