A SPECIAL evening to thank wives and loved ones was held at the Scotch Corner Hotel by the Lennox Masonic Lodge from Richmond.

Worshipful Master Paul Blacklock and Sheila Blacklock were the hosts for the evening which was attended by 76 people.

A raffle was held of a bottle of whisky which raised £255 for a charity which helps women in need in Nagpur, India.

After a four-course meal, entertainment was provided in the form of a Vegas casino night with roulette, blackjack and a wheel of fortune, followed by a disco.

The Lennox Lodge is the oldest Lodge in the Province of Yorkshire dating back to 1763.

Mr Blacklock said: "It was a wonderful evening, and our way of saying thank you to the ladies who put up with us and support us throughout the year.

"We were so pleased that the auction of the bottle of whisky raised so much for the Nagpur charity which helps to look after people suffering from leprosy."
