TV CREWS are once again filming with Cleveland and Durham police officers after the success Channel 5 programme Police Interceptors.

The present series follows officers in the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit (CDSOU), which includes police dog handlers and traffic police, is currently showing.

And the programme makers have been pleased enough to commission another series with the same force which is expected to air next year.

Head of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, Mark Thornton said: “The first series was generally well received by the public and we have had lots of supportive messages from them.

"Throughout the show we have been able to show the wide variety of incidents that our officers in the unit have to deal with, including collisions, drunk drivers, drugs seizures and more.

“We’re pleased to be working with Raw Cut and Channel 5 again. The series has highlighted the good relationship that we have between the police and public in the North-East, in both our enforcement activity and at the scenes of incidents.”

Officers from the unit are currently being shadowed by cameramen.
