A COUPLE of holes on the back nine prevented Graeme Storm from a top 30 place going in to the second round of the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Storm was sitting nicely on one under after erasing the memory of a bogey at the ninth with a birdie at the tenth to go with an earlier one at the third.

But bogeys at the 16th and 17th saw him drop down to tied 47th at the Jumeirah Estates after posting an opening round 73 in the end of year showpiece event on the European Tour.

The Hartlepool pro, knowing there is no cut for the 60-strong elite field, is still nicely placed and will target a strong finish to propel him higher up the leaderboard in the lucrative event in the hope of a big earner to finish the year.
