A STRONG weekend at the BMW Masters has seen Graeme Storm power his way to Dubai this week.

Storm followed up Saturday's three under 69 with an ever better final round 67 in Shanghai to climb up to 24th in the $7.5m event.

It meant the 81,000 euros he collected was enough to close the gap and propel in to the top 60 in the Race to Dubai rankings.

Sweden's Kristoffer Broberg, who had just been ahead of him in the battle and had his own ideas of claiming a top 60 spot, went on to win via a play-off having finished on 17 under.

But Hartlepool's Storm, attached to Rockliffe Hall, still claimed enough money with his eight-under total, including a final round littered with birdies which only included one bogey at the ninth, to join the European Tour’s elite.

Storm's finish means he will be with the other top 60 golfers on the Tour this year at this week's Dubai World Tour Championship.

His place has largely been down to an impressive ending to 2015, which has seen him finish in the top 50 in each of his last seven events; including second spot at the Porsche European Open in September.
